Josephine (Gulisano) Marra

Josephine Gulisano Marra, age 70, of West Haven passed away peacefully at her home, with her family at her side, on February 1, 2024.  For 43 years, she was the loving wife of the late Gaetano Marra.  Josephine was born in New Haven, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Angelina Salamone Gulisano.  She is survived by her devoted children, Antonio (Dina) Marra, Evelina (Robert) Holton and Gaetano (Kimberly) Marra Jr., her adoring sisters, Anna Ferrante and Carmel (Antonio) Valentino, her cherished grandchildren, Adriana M., Adriana H., Joey, Nate, Madison, Peyton and Morgan, her favorite 4-legged companion Louie, her in-laws Rosann Gulisano and Peter Girotto, and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, Josephine was predeceased by her siblings, Anthony Gulisano, Rosalie Girotto, Charles (Rosina) Gulisano and her brother-in-law Jimmy Ferrante.

For many years, Josephine was an Admission and Marketing Director for several local nursing home facilities, most recently Regency House Nursing and Rehabilitation, Wallingford.

She was a Notary Public, a past member of the Chamber of Commerce of Hamden, and the Interfaith Council.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Louis Church, St. John XXIII Parish at 10am.  Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Smilow Cancer Hospital at www.givetoynhh.org.
