Joyce D. Cassel, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will live on in all who knew her. Joyce was a devoted mother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She gave endlessly of herself, always putting others first and offering comfort, guidance, and unwavering support. Her love was constant and unconditional, creating a foundation that her family will carry with them forever. She will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for. Whether through her kind words, her laughter, or simply her presence, Joyce had a way of bringing light into the lives of those around her.
Joyce dedicated many years of her professional life working at CHCP as an IT tech support specialist, where she was known for her reliability, patience, and willingness to help others. She later worked in accounts payable for Cartier before retiring, taking pride in her work and the relationships she built along the way.
Joyce was predeceased by her loving parents, James and Elizabeth (“Betty”) Drummond; her beloved sister, Judith DiSanto; and her brother, Keith Drummond. She is survived by her loving husband, Harold Cassel; her cherished daughters, Jaime Shippy and her husband Lewis, and Jennifer Lafountain and her husband Vincent; her sister Amy Cooke and her children Ian and Kaitlynn, her treasured grandchildren, Jake Ambrose, Zachary Shippy, and Evan Shippy and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce’s memory will be cherished by her extended family, dear friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she is no longer with us, her love remains deeply rooted in the hearts of those she touched. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories she gave us and the love she leaves behind. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply. She will be missed beyond words and loved forever.
