Joyce M. Jepsen, 83, of West Haven, died at St. Raphael's Hospital with family by her side on February 21, 2026. She is survived by her loving grandson Stephen A. (Victoria) Jepsen; sister Judy (Paul) Iversen; niece Lori Ferguson and family; and nephew Paul Iversen and family. In addition to her parents Arthur and Marion Doster Dow, Joyce was predeceased by her son, Stephen J. Jepsen.
Joyce’s loved ones extend a special thanks to Becky, who was so helpful to her for the last few years.
Her education included schooling from West Haven High School, class of 1960, and an associate's degree at Bay Path College, class of 1962. She played an integral part in the organization of her high school reunions, where her professional skills overlapped with her caring towards those with whom she was close. Joyce spent many wonderful years working for the Yale University Investment Office and was always loving and proud of those with whom she worked until her retirement in 2019.
She was always passionate about her genealogy, discovering family far larger and more dispersed than most people could comprehend their relations to be. Her love of animals was often a common occupant of her mind, finding herself taking in any poor soul who needed her.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday morning, February 28, 2026, at 10 a.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Please meet at the cemetery office, 769 Ella T. Grasso Boulevard, New Haven, at 9:45 a.m.
