Judith Ann (Savino) Mustakos

Judith “Judy” Ann Savino Mustakos, entered into eternal rest on January 28, 2024.  

Born November 19, 1953, in New Haven, Judy grew up in West Haven and for the past 30 years has resided in Milford. She graduated from West Haven High where she met and then later married her beloved husband of 49 years, John. In addition to John, she is survived by her devoted family, including three daughters Lisa (Joseph) Silva, Tara (Daniel) Wassmer, and Laura Mustakos, cherished grandsons Nico Savino, Dante Joseph, and Chance, her treasured cousin Sister Lisa Zuccarelli, many other family members, friends, and her adored rescue cat Elliot. She was predeceased by her loving parents Frank and Carmela DiMiero Savino.

Judy took pride in hosting her family and friends, every detail had to be just perfect. She loved to decorate her home, hunt for antiques, and go to concerts. Some of her favorite things were the Beatles, ice cream, miniature anything, cardinals, scratch off tickets, Play 3 and her restored VW Beetle, named Chloe. Her girls joked that she loved the car more than she loved them! Her preferred pastime was going to the casino with John where she would play the penny machines for hours. Judy lived with Multiple Sclerosis for decades, but she didn’t let that stop her, as evidenced by the number of times she painted, and repainted, wallpapered and re-wallpapered her home. She always went above and beyond for her family and friends. Judy was a beautiful woman who loved with her whole heart. 

Family and friends may visit on Thursday February 1, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  On Friday morning please proceed directly to St. John Vianney Church, St. John XXIII Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, St. Vincent's Center for Cancer Care, or Whiskers-A-GoGo Cat Rescue in New York.
