Julia "Judy" (Schmitt) Conzo

Julia “Judy” Conzo, 87, of West Haven, died peacefully on August 27, 2025. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Conzo Sr., (retired WHPD). Born September 9, 1937, Judy was a daughter of the late John and Helen Tiemin Schmitt. A 1956 graduate of West Haven High School, Judy married the love of her life, Joe, after his service in the U.S. Army.  They enjoyed 66 years of married life, and together they raised two sons, John (Sylvia) and Joseph Jr. (Brenda). In addition to her sons, she leaves two sisters Jackie LaLiberty and Joan Schmitt.

After working as an administrator for Breakers Convalescent Home for many years, Judy spent her retirement traveling and visiting many countries with her husband Joe.  She was past president of the West Haven Italian American Ladies Auxiliary and a lifetime member.

She will be missed by all.

Visitation will take place on Thursday morning September 4th from 9:30 to 11 o’clock at the West Haven Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John XXIII parish at St. John Vianney Church at 11:30. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum, St. Lawrence Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
