Kerstin Ingegerd de Warga, of West Haven and a longtime resident of West River Rehab, entered into rest on August 26, 2020. She was predeceased by her husbands’ Nils Hylten-Cavallius and Janos deWarga. Born in Rebbelberga, Sweden on February 18, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Ernst and Sigrid Persson Christofferson. Inge immigrated to Canada in 1952, residing in Peterborough, Ontario. In 1966, she came to Georgetown, CT, then moving to New Haven. She resided in Los Alamitos, CA and Wakefield, MA. prior to her return to West Haven in 1982.
Inge’s family includes her children Stellan (Lena) Hylten-Cavallius of Tjornarp, Sweden, Marta Hylten-Cavallius (the late Lars Espensen) of Copenhagen, Denmark, Stina (the late Jim) Decker of Hillsborough, NJ, Chris (Rosemary) de Warga of West Haven and Kajsa (Eugene) Mascolo of Derby; grandchildren Isak, Jakob, Elin and Ulf Hylten-Cavallius, Anna Alenryd, Jens Espensen, Michele Farrell, Khris Decker, Kerry Brady, Chris and Jessica de Warga, Louis and Alix Mascolo and 17 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Gertrud Christenson. During her time in Canada, Inge was a Girl Scout leader. Locally, she was a landmark employee of Silvers Pharmacy, West Haven from 1984 until its closing, a member of the Pride Committee of West Haven and the Handweaver’s Guild of CT.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday at 1 pm in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery.
