Leslie Marie “Lee” Abbott, 62, a lifelong West Haven resident, entered into rest on October 10, 2024. The beloved daughter of the late James Robb Abbott and the late Barbara Kords Abbott O’Leary, Leslie studied at Quinnipiac University and worked as a medical assistant for Advanced Foot Care.
Lee will be deeply and forever missed by her two sisters Tracy Brown and Allison (Louis Rotelli) Abbott, her nephew James (Roseanne) Brown, four nieces Heather (Michael) Archambault, Nikki (Michael) Gibeau, Jordan Brown, Tanja Brunski, and their families. She was also very dear to Karen, Deb, and Donald, and countless other friends and acquaintances. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Jennifer A. Brown and brother James C. Abbott.
Lee was a pillar of strength and support for everyone in her family. Without question, she was the epitome of what an aunt, sister, and daughter should be; dedicated, caring, devoted, and profoundly connected to each family member. Lee’s love for her family was unwavering.
Lee was always there when needed, offering wisdom and advice that was consistently insightful and thoughtful. In addition to her many roles, she was the “go-to person” for everything. From being the family's unofficial doctor to an expert in the kitchen, Lee had a vast knowledge of cars, boats, and home maintenance projects. Over the years, she gave invaluable lessons that shaped the lives of her loved ones.
Education was something Lee held in high regard, and she encouraged her nieces to be knowledgeable and wise from a young age. She passed on countless life lessons that will be cherished forever. Lee’s beloved dog, Tinkerbell, held a special place in her heart, and Lee provided exceptional care and training. Tinkerbell even learned to dance for treats at Lee’s command.
Lee found immense joy in being on the water, and the image of her smiling face with the wind in her hair as she navigated around on her boat is one that will be remembered forever. She also treasured her white Camaro, affectionately named "Cream Puff,” and delighted in taking friends and family for a drive.
Everyone hopes that she’s at peace now, reunited with loved ones who have passed before her. Lee will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched, and her love and memory will be carried by all for the rest of their lives.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning November 9, 2024 at St. John Vianney Church at 10:30. There are no other services at this time. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
