Lidia Warycz Litvyn, 87, of Guilford entered into rest on August 11, 2025. She was the wife of Volodimir “Walter” Litvyn, who died in 2023. For many years, Lidia worked at several bridal shops in the New Haven area where she was highly respected as a well-regarded seamstress.
She leaves her children Lucia Litvyn and Gregory (Lynne) Litvyn and four grandsons, whom she adored and cherished, Randall and Robert Bova, Gregory and Gavyn Litvyn. She was predeceased by her sister Alexandra Iwanec and her niece Lena Iwanec. A daughter of the late Michael and Maria Mydianyk Warycz, Lidia was born in Kharkov, Ukraine.
Lidia’s home was a sanctuary for all where laughter echoed along with the comforting aroma of her kitchen. She was a phenomenal cook especially for the traditional Ukrainian recipes and warm hospitality, a testament of her culinary artistry and the heart she poured into every meal. She genuinely felt food was a way to express love. In addition to Lidia’s love of cooking, flowers brought her happiness and smiles. She displayed beautiful floral arrangements throughout her home and gardens.
Mom was the heart and soul of our family. She taught each of us the importance she lived by-honesty, sincerity, endless generosity and genuineness. Her memory will be forever cherished as our loving mom and Baba as will the countless meals and precious moments shared around her table.
Lidia’s funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Andrew Memorial Church on Saturday August 16 at 1 pm in South Bound Brook, New Jersey. Her burial will follow in St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, also in South Bound Brook.
