Lydia Guerra Estwan, 94, of West Haven, entered into eternal rest on May 26, 2025. For 64 years she was the devoted wife of the late Andrew (Pop) Estwan. Lydia leaves behind her loving daughter Lisa (Keith COWHFD Fire Marshal) Flood, her granddaughters Nikki (the late Jason) Boynton, Dana Fimiani; her great grandchildren Rylie and Jackson Boynton and Anthony Jayson Severino, her sister Anne (Guerra) Greenberg along with her fur baby Abby. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her brothers Azelio (Sal) Guerra and Marino (Mike) Guerra.
Born in West Haven on October 16, 1930 to the late Enrico and Annunziata (Furlani) Guerra. Lydia, also lovingly known as Nan, was blessed to live her entire beautiful life on Boylston Street in West Haven with the love of her life, Pop, where she raised her family. Nan had a big heart and her door was always open to friends and family where she would entertain with elaborate and elegant place settings. Paper and plastic were not allowed at her table. The year-round Christmas tree was always decorated according to the current holiday. You would always find Nan with her hair up, a terry cloth wrap and her nails freshly painted white. Her beautiful smile would light up any room, and the hugs, you would feel them for days. When Lydia was not spending time with her family she enjoyed taking yearly trips to Florida with Pop, gardening in the yard and sunning by the pool.
Nan was the matriarch of the family; she was the why, she was the glue and her presence will be missed immensely. Thank you, Nan, for your unwavering love, guidance, wisdom, and friendship throughout life, we love you beyond words.
Visitation will take place on Saturday morning May 31 from 8:30 to 10:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home. A parlor service will begin at 10:30. Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum.
