Lydia Alexandra (Rammler) Romanik

Lydia Alexandra Rammler Romanik, formerly of West Haven, passed away peacefully on a sunny October morning just shy of her birthday.  She was 98.98 years old. She was born in Munich, Germany to parents Therese Maria Boiger and Georg Ludwig Rammler. Lydia and her sister Magarethe sailed with their parents to America in 1928 to build a new life together. Lydia met the love of her life, Joseph Leon Romanik at a church event in New Haven.  They were married at St. Boniface Church, New Haven, and created a family home by the shore in West Haven. Lydia and Joe had three children, George Joseph (Lauren McGregor and daughter Grace Julia), Philip Bernard (Karen Carloni), and Elise Maria (John Field and daughter Lydia Elizabeth). Lydia was predeceased by her husband in December 1982. 

We remember her lively spirit, sharp mind, and deep faith. A private Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. John Vianney Church of St. John XXIII Parish in West Haven, and she was interred nearby in St. Lawrence Cemetery. We loved her dearly. May she rest in peace.
