A Life Lived with Love, Laughter, Strength and Kindness
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Magda Rivera-Fallon on June 27, 2026, at the age of 69. Magda left behind beautiful memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
Magda was born on November 6, 1956 in Great Lakes, Illinois to the late Laureano Rivera Baez of Cidra, Puerto Rico and Celia Maria Rivera of Ponce, Puerto Rico. She was a graduate of Liverpool High School in Liverpool, New York.
Magda Rivera-Fallon was the kind of woman who made you feel like family the moment she walked into your life - and once she did, she never left. A strong and loving woman, and a devoted friend, Magda gave her whole heart without hesitation to family and friends alike, in ways that were as effortless as they were unforgettable.
Magda was a dedicated colleague in her many roles over the years, from marketing and project management for Playtex Products, Banana Boat, Energizer, and Hawaiian Tropic to her final job as a commercial sales representative for The Bilco Company. All of Magda's co-workers remember her for how much she helped and guided them through their busy days, and for the tremendous care and enthusiasm she showed them.
Over the past twenty years, Magda was the beating heart of a circle of friends who lived life fully and joyfully together. Weekends found her at the beach, where she was most at home - salt air, sunshine, and good company being among her greatest pleasures. She was equally at home at a dinner table, glass of wine or bourbon in hand, laughing loudly, enjoying life and loving deeply. She loved to dine out and try new dishes. When she danced (and she loved to) it was like it was a gift she gave to the room and soon everyone was on their feet with her.
She was a devoted fixture at holiday gatherings and pop-up parties, and her presence made every celebration feel complete. She brought the same Magda-enthusiasm to girls' vacations filled with travel, beaches, shopping, and the kind of memories that only happen when the right women find each other.
Magda was a gifted and passionate artist. Under the name, Magda's One of a Kind, which she truly was, she created stunning, one-of-a-kind jewelry that reflected her creativity, her eye for beauty, and her generous spirit. For years, her loyal customers sought her out at each seasonal craft show and the Tony lnzero Farmers Market in West Haven, returning not just for her work, but for her. Those customers will feel her absence and the warmth and caring she brought to every transaction keenly this season and every season to come.
The center of her world was her son Patrick, whom she spoke of with tremendous pride. She called him Son - rarely Patrick Jr., just Son - and said it with such tenderness and pride that everyone around her eventually followed suit. To know Magda was to love Son right along with her.
Magda is survived by her husband Patrick John Fallon and son Patrick James Fallon both of West Haven, Connecticut. She is also survived by her sisters Evelyn Rivera (Tony), Leslie Feduik (Greg), Celita Oman (Brian), and Sandra Rivera (Nelson); brother Lauro Rivera (Deanna); and several nieces and nephew.
She was sweet. She was strong. She was kind. She was, in her most endearing way, a little stubborn - and we loved her all the more for it. Our world is quieter without her laughter in it. Our tables feel one seat too empty. Our beach will carry her spirit in every wave. Magda Rivera- Fallon always was, and always will be, irreplaceable, and we will miss her forever.
