Marie (Cardascio) Giordano, 94, of Orange, Connecticut, beloved wife of Pacific Thomas Giordano for 73 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2020. She was a devoted mother to her children Linda, Debby and Arlene (Jim) as well as grandchildren Thomas, Ryan, Lindsay, Jamie and Alec. She was the eldest daughter of the late Rose Guzzo and Antonio Cardascio. She was predeceased by her sister Eleanor (John) Onofrio and Joan Cardascio. Marie was a 61-year resident of Orange, CT where she raised her family. She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Infant Church in Orange. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Cardascio, and sister, Lorraine Cardascio. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews, including John (Fran) Onofrio, Dara Onofrio, Michael Onofrio (Frank), Lisa (Tom) Morgillo, Maria (Mike) Toohey and Donna (Larry) Nero.
Marie was known for her unconditional love and ever-present support for her family. Marie loved purely and freely, without judgment, and people of all ages who knew her sought her friendship and wisdom. Family was always Marie’s priority and she balanced working in the family business with her husband for many decades. Marie spent her final days in the company of her children and grandchildren, all the while holding hands with her husband.
Funeral arrangements were handled by West Haven Funeral Home; interment was private. The family wishes to thank the Milford Fire Department, EMS, all the first responders as well as the staff, nurses and doctors of Milford Hospital and West River Rehabilitation Center. Your care for our mother and our family was greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten.
