Martin Luke Belko, 64, of West Haven, entered into rest on April 18, 2026. Born in New Haven on June 12, 1961, a son of the late Joseph and Rose McCormick Belko. Martin is survived by his adoring wife Lynne Labanara Belko; sisters- and brothers-in-law Janice (Christopher) Simeti and Ardis (Martin) Goldbaum; niece Kimberly (Brian) Gibbons; grandniece Kylie; grandnephews Joshua and Collin; dog Jacob and cats Autumn Rose and Noelle. Along with his parents, Martin was predeceased by sister Charlene and brother Kevin.
Growing up, Martin found great joy in boating and fishing with his parents and family. He attended culinary school, but didn’t pursue food service as a profession.
Martin’s career path included manufacturing, and he worked as a toolmaker, first for The Lee Company in Woodbridge, and later at ASML in Wilton. He took pride in his contributions to the aerospace and semiconductor industries, and he developed strong, lasting friendships with his coworkers.
Married to his beloved Lynne for 42 years, Martin was a devoted husband. He was exceedingly kind and frequently went out of his way to help others. He was a diehard fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the New York Rangers and the Boston Red Sox.
Martin’s cheerful nature, caring heart, and generous soul will be missed by all whose lives were touched by his presence.
Arrangements were entrusted to the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning, April 27, 2026, from nine to eleven o’clock, at which time his funeral service will commence in the parlor. Interment will remain private.
