Mary Helen (Wolak) Marino

Mary Helen Marino, age 74, of West Haven, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. For 49 years, she was the wife of the late Charles A.  Marino Jr.  Mary was born in Passaic, New Jersey, daughter of the late George and Helen Mary Bryia Wolak.  She is survived by her loving children, Charles Marino III and his wife Jennifer of NC and James Marino and his wife Silvia of West Haven, her cherished grandson Samuel James Marino, and her siblings, George Wolak and Theresa Idler and her husband Gaetano, all of Florida. 

Prior to her retirement, Mary was a case manager assistant for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield Healthcare.  She was very active in West Haven politics. Mary was the former Registrar of Voters for the Democratic Party and was a past president of the West Haven Democratic Women’s Club. When her children were younger, she was active with the PTA at Washington School and a den mother with Cub Scouts.

The hours for visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home Thursday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of Victory Church at 10am.  Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
