Mickey Cuomo, 77, longtime resident of West Haven, passed away on May 27, 2025. He was born on February 1, 1948 to the late Pasquale and Mary Cuomo. He was a successful contractor and owner of Mick Builders for over 50 years. He was a member of the West Haven Elks Club Lodge #1537 for 54 years and was a past Elk of the year. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, car enthusiast, and a member of the Shoreline Street Rods. Mickey was caring, well respected, and well known for his work ethic and his devotion to family and friends.
Mickey was a 1965 graduate of Eli Whitney Technical School and joined the Air Force in 1966 where he served as a sergeant until 1970. He went on to earn a Civil Engineering degree from the University of New Haven.
Mickey is survived by his loving and devoted lifetime partner, Linda Prinzhorn, daughters Carrie Carbone (Anthony) of Branford, Corrine Cuomo (Ian Mangler) of Clinton, Eric Prinzhorn (Katie) of Plantsville, a sister Lynda Papallo (Arthur Mascola) of West Haven, a brother Larry Cuomo (Elizabeth) of Hamden, cherished Grandpa and Poppy to Samuel and Teagan Mangler of Clinton and Skylar, Jayden, Evan, and Madelyn Prinzhorn of Plantsville, his adoring nieces Marissa Franco (Mark), Michelle Raso (John), Stacey Cuomo, and Laura Smith (Adam), and several beloved cousins.
Mickey’s family would like to express their gratitude to his neighbors for their many acts of kindness and support throughout the years.
Visitation hours will be Friday June 6 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Inurnment to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital as Mick was a monthly donor.
