Michael W. Heaphy, 66, a lifelong West Haven resident entered into rest on March 31, 2025. He was the husband of Pamela Main Heaphy. A son of the late John Francis and Ruth Parker Heaphy, Jr., Mike grew up on Prospect St., near the beach in West Shore. He had so many fond memories of taking his siblings out on his boat and spending time at the beach with them. Boating remained a lifelong passion for him. Mike learned the art of printing, a skill he proudly maintained until his eyesight diminished. He then attended college to pursue a degree in computer science at Gateway Community College. Upon completion of his studies, he worked at Gateway in information technology until retirement.
In addition to Pam, Mike leaves three siblings John (Michelle) Heaphy, Betsy Heaphy and Colleen (Tom) Fagan, nieces and nephews John (Ashley), Andrea, Sarah (Ryan), Chrissy, and Jason (Lauren) Gagnon, Cameran and Carson Kershner, his in-laws Lois and Andrew, Ron and Amy, Sydney, Mason and Shawn Elizabeth Main; and his beloved pup Casey Jones. Mike was predeceased by his brother Thomas Heaphy and his fur babies Bill and Jack, who he could usually be seen out walking.
A celebration to honor Mike will take place on Wednesday April 9 from 4 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home. Remembrances will be shared beginning at 6:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New England Organ Bank, neds.org.
