Michael "Kevin" Mangan

Michael “Kevin” Mangan, 88, of West Haven, died on December 29, 2023, at Griffin Hospital.  Born on September 16, 1935, in Tarbert County Kerry, Ireland, a son of the late John “Jack” and Mary “Molly” (Enright) Mangan.  Survived by daughters Mary Lambert of Coventry, RI and Tara (Jeff) Rindos of Beacon Falls, CT; son Michael (Janine) Mangan of Midland, GA; grandchildren Liam, Michael III, Casey, Shannon, Jake, Amanda, Alexander, and Emily; great-grandchildren Lillian, Addison, Zoey, and Sadie; brother Eddie Mangan of Ballylongford, County Kerry, Ireland; sister-in-law Judith Lamoureaux of West Haven, CT; as well as brother-in-law Joe (Della) Lamoureaux of Indian Land, SC.  Preceded in death by his beloved wife Suzanne Mangan, loving son John Mangan, as well as twelve siblings.  

Kevin believed in a strong work ethic, the importance of family, patriotism, and kindness to others.  He proudly served in the United States National Guard, then went on to work for Western Electric, Bayer, and AT&T for 28 years.  An excellent family man, he would consistently maintain two jobs to provide for those he loved.  Kevin was well known in his community and found great enjoyment in being with others and playing the numbers.  He will remain in the hearts of those left behind, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for whom he was affectionally known as “Pop Pop”.  Kevin’s family would like to extend their gratitude to his friends at Dunkin Donuts for their friendship, as well as those of Smithfield Gardens, for their compassion and care.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 4th, from 8:30 to 10:30.  His formal procession will then depart the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in St. Agnes Church of Milford, beginning at eleven o’clock.  Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
