Michael Lee Moore

Michael L. Moore, 66, of New Haven entered a peaceful rest on December 11, 2024.   Born in Titus, AL on April 25, 1958, a son of the late Jessie Moore and Rozena Pearson. 

His only surviving sibling of 13 is his beloved sister, Bessie Jackson of West Haven, CT.  Bessie was responsible for placing Michael under the care of Marrakech to ensure he received optimal support during his life.  Bessie was also known to cook home cooked meals regularly for her brother and often participated in activities with him.

Also survived by Michael are nieces and nephews Joseph Jackson, Tiffany Jackson, Eileen Gary, Matilda Barrett, Frank Moore, Alfred Moore, James Moore (Big), Rosemary Moore, James Moore (Small), Andrea Perkins, Jennifer Perkins, Timothy Perkins, Nancy Williams, Johnny. Perkins Jr., Sally Brown, Belinda Hannon, Tasha Benson, and George Hannon.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a host of brothers and sisters.

Michael was an incredible man who embraced the support of Marrakech in his daily life. For over 30 years, he was a cherished member of the Marrakech family, forming lasting friendships and creating many wonderful memories along the way. Michael always had a smile on his face and never missed a Marrakech recreational event. He loved dressing up for these occasions, especially his annual birthday celebration at the buffet, which he eagerly anticipated. His warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit touched everyone he encountered. Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
