Nancy Ann Barnes Stackpole, 90, of Westbrook, passed peacefully on January 9, 2024. Born in New Haven on August 28, 1933, a daughter of Joseph and Anna Fisher Barnes. Nancy is survived by her loving daughters, Kathleen Ann Stackpole of Clinton, Beth Ann (James) Kelly of West Haven, and Karen Lynn Stackpole of Durham; daughter-in-law Marina Stackpole of Portland; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister Patricia Stackpole. Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved son William D. Stackpole; brothers Joseph Barnes, Jr., Charles Barnes, and Robert Barnes; as well as sisters Beverly Caciopoli, Elizabeth Hurley, Maureen Erickson, and Virginia Hunley.
Nancy worked at U.S. Surgical until she retired in 2002. She was proud of her Irish heritage and family history from County Donegal, Ireland. She was a long-standing member of the Irish American Society. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30, followed by a service in the funeral parlor and interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
