Nannette Auletta Giovine, wife of the late Joseph Giovine, died peacefully and with dignity in her home on December 24, 2024. She was 100 years old. Born in Hamden, she was the youngest of eight children of the late Frederick and Mary Auletta. She is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, MaryJo and Bruce McKleroy, Anne and the late Stuart Grant, and Elizabeth and Raymond Vogel, five grandchildren and their spouses, Gardiner and Megan Low McKleroy, William and Samantha Costantini McKleroy, Alexandra and Matthew O’Hearn, Peter and Meredith Vogel, and Edward and Mark Vogel, and six great-grandchildren, and long-time dear family friend, Dorothy L. Berger.
A graduate of St Joseph’s College in West Hartford class of 1945, in 1966 she earned a Master’s of Education degree from Southern Connecticut State University which led to twenty-two years of teaching in Milford and Orange.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank her excellent caregivers Shirley Matthews, Shana Gordon, Krystal Clifton, and Donna Ilioff.
Calling hours will be from 5-7 pm on Friday, January 10th, 2025, at The West Haven Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2025, 10am, at Holy Infant Church, 456 Racebrook Road in Orange.
