Nelida "Nellie" Ramos Lopez

Nelida Ramos Lopez, 66, of West Haven entered into rest on March 30, 2026. Born August 24, 1959, in Hatillo, PR to the late Pedro Lopez Nieves and Rosa Lopez Echevarria. Devoted wife to Angel Ramos for 27 years.

Along with her husband, Nellie is survived by her devoted children Tiana Ocasio and Angel Ramos Jr.; granddaughters Arianna (Joshua Greer) Ocasio and Yasmin Nesmith; sister Evelin Lopez; sisters-in-law Miriam Lopez, Sylvia Rodriguez, Maria Eugenia Ramos, Alma Rodriguez, and Mirta Ramos; brother-in-law Allen Rodriguez; nieces Jessica (Frank) Bonilla and Nastassja (Ashkan) Alipour; great-niece Daria Alipour; great-nephews Felix Alipour and Caleb Bonilla; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and treasured friends.

In addition to her parents, Nellie is predeceased by brother Edwin Lopez, and grandparents Geronimo Lopez, Concepcion Nieves, Julio Echevarria and Juana Nieves.

Nellie retired from a bookkeeping career in the healthcare field which spanned many decades. After retirement she worked at Patti and Sons for Dominic Broccoli, who is a dear family friend.

She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and spending time with family. Especially back home in Puerto Rico.

The hours for visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 8 from 4 to 7 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. On Thursday morning, the procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louis Church of St. John XXIII Parish at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
