Nilson Brito Diniz, of West Haven, passed away suddenly on July 4, 2021. Born on April 26, 1994 in Faro, Portugal, the son of Maria Brito and Jose Ramos Diniz, whom both emigrated from the Republic of Cabo Verde. After many years in Bias do North, Portugal, Nilson excitedly joined his mother and sister in the United States. It was here he became an extremely talented and self-taught Barber, praised by those who were fortunate to receive a “fresh cut” from him. Through his artistic expression and endeavors, combined with his “easy going” nature, he built numerous meaningful friendships within the community. Nilson will most lovingly be remembered for his authenticity, selflessness, hard work and heartfelt kindness. He was loved by those who knew him and will be dearly missed.
In addition to his loving parents, Maria Brito and Jose Ramos Diniz, Nilson is also survived by his sister Nedina Lima; stepfather Abilio Neves; aunts Herminia, Idalina and Armanda Brito; uncles Jorge, Ivaristo, Zeca, Osvaldo, Manuel and Alcides Brito, as well as Joao Diniz; nephew Derek Dorosario, and many loving cousins.
Nilson is predeceased by his loving grandparents Francisco Brito and Maria Livramento, both from the Republic of Cabo Verde.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, July 8th, calling hours will be from 5 to 8 o’clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, July 9th at 11am within St. John XXIII Catholic Parish- Church of St. Louis at 89 Bull Hill Lane in West Haven, immediately followed by interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
