May 6, 1933 ~ July 6, 2021 (age 88)

Obituary

Oliver Bristol Bailey entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2021, at the Hospital of St Raphael’s, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Haven on May 6, 1933, he was the son of the late Charles and Bessie Bailey. Oliver was pre-deceased by his wife of 50 years, Joan Bollyen Bailey and his great granddaughter, Olivia Benitez.  Beloved father of Keith (Christine) Bailey and Stuart (Rhonda) Bailey, much loved grandfather to Kristy & Jason Garguilo, Ashley Bailey, Jacqueline (Fausto) Benitez, Heather Bailey, and Kyle Bailey, great grandfather to Arianna, Leah, Phoenix, and Riley.

Oliver grew up in West Haven where he met and married the love of his life, Joan. After raising their family, Oliver and Joan retired to Winthrop, Maine and spent many happy years at their lake house. After Joan’s passing Oliver returned to West Haven where he resided until his passing.  Oliver was a life-long parishioner of the Church of the Holy Spirit (Christ Church) and a proud veteran of the Korean War.
