Patricia L. Scholl, age 89, of West Haven passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2021. She was born in Ashland, OH, daughter of the late A. Richard and Evelyn Bosler Gongwer. Patricia is survived by her loving daughter Natalie Carrignan, her cherished granddaughters, Calista Carrignan and Courtney Carrignan all of West Haven, and her siblings Jean May of CO, Kay Honour of British Columbia, Joy Versaw of CO and Brenda Zimmer of WA. She was predeceased by her brother James Gongwer.
Pat was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, with a quiet but wry sense of humor. Pat was the eldest of the family and her sisters fondly remember all the special things she did for them over the years. Pat was known affectionately as “Grandma Pat” to all the extended families and circle of friends. Pat had many interests. She was an avid needle pointer, gardener and bird enthusiast. Pat loved her crafts too: ceramics, china painting, sewing and doll making.
In her professional career, Pat worked for various companies as a clerk, credit manager, and bookkeeper including her former husband’s dental practice. She was also an active homemaker involved in bridge clubs and Rotary events. She then became a dedicated paraprofessional and school office secretary for twenty years for the Adams County 12 Five Star Schools in Colorado.
All Funeral Services will be private in care of the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Mae’s Closet in Hamden, CT or the American Lung Association.
