Paul V. D’Amico, Sr., 72, of West Haven, died on October 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Haven on August 1, 1953, son of the late Paul and Anne (Pergolotti) D’Amico. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan (Vitti) D’Amico; sons Paul (Alyssa) and James D’Amico; and grandchildren Gino and Lorenzo D’Amico.
In his early years, Paul enjoyed hanging out at Jimmy’s by the Rock in his 1969 Orange Camaro with his buddies. He had a 34-year career as a mechanic for Partyka Chevrolet after which he worked at Wawa/Krauser’s. Paul’s interests included drag racing, old school muscle cars, NASCAR, and the WWE. He always wore a smile on his face; his whole life was centered around his children and grandchildren; and he was fully present in his friends’ and family’s lives.
The D’Amico family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses in the St Ray’s ICU for their care and compassion for Paul.
Arrangements were entrusted to the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from four to seven o’clock, at which time a prayer service will commence in the funeral parlor. Interment will remain private.
