Phillip P. Baccki III

Phillip Baccki III, 64, of Milford, passed away on June 28, 2026. Born on September 3, 1961, in New Haven, Phil was a beloved son of the late Phillip Jr. and Mary DiNello Baccki.  The second of three children, he is survived by sister Anna (Peter) Stankovics and brother Mark Baccki.

In 1980, Phil enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1986. During his military service, Phil's tour of duty took him to Grenada and Panama.

Following his time in the Air Force, Phil worked for several companies before beginning what would become a distinguished career with Sikorsky Aircraft/Lockheed Martin in Stratford. While working full-time, he earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, demonstrating the determination and work ethic that defined his life. He went on to apply his education and talents as a Senior Software/Computer Engineer for Sikorsky, where he dedicated more than 38 years of service before retiring in April 2026.

Outside of work, Phil had a lifelong passion for motorcycling. Over the years he owned Honda Gold Wing, Buell, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles, though to Phil, the joy was never about the brand—it was simply about being on the open road. His adventures took him throughout New England and beyond, including rides to Nova Scotia, California, and Key West, Florida.

Phil was also an enthusiastic follower of the electric vehicle industry and a devoted Tesla fan. In October 2025, he fulfilled a long-awaited dream by purchasing his Tesla Model Y. He delighted in the experience of driving past gas stations with a smile, embracing the technology he had admired for so long.

Known affectionately as a true "tech geek," Phil was the person everyone called when a computer, printer, or electronic gadget needed fixing. More importantly, he never hesitated to help. No matter the problem or the hour, Phil was always willing to lend his knowledge, his time, and his patience. His gentle spirit, generosity, and quiet kindness earned him countless friendships throughout his life.

Phil's greatest legacy is not only his accomplishments but the way he treated others—with compassion, humility, and a willingness to help whenever he could. His kindness touched the lives of family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors alike.

While Phil may no longer be with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of the family he cherished and the many friends who were fortunate enough to know him. Those of us left behind have lost a beloved brother and a loyal friend, while Heaven has gained a kind and gentle soul.

Phil will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Calling hours will be held on Monday evening, July 6, from 5 o'clock until 7 o'clock at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  On Tuesday morning, all are requested to meet directly at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Road, Orange.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 o'clock.  Inurnment with military honors will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Road, North Haven.
