Rachele Russello

Rachele Russello, 96, of Guilford, CT, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 11, 2024.

Born in 1928 in New Haven, Connecticut, to Nicoletta and Michael Crisci, Rachele was raised in East Haven, Connecticut. On May 14, 1949, she married Frank Russello, and the couple moved to West Haven, where they spent many happy years together raising their family. Following Frank’s passing, Rachele moved to Guilford to live with her son Frank and his family, where she continued to enjoy life surrounded by those she loved.

Rachele was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Russello, and her siblings, Marie Crisci and Pat Crisci. She is survived by her children, Nicoletta McMinn (James), Vincent Russello (Laura), and Frank Russello (Dawn); her sister, Ann DeLucia; her brother, Anthony Crisci; and her grandchildren, James McMinn, Michael McMinn, Samantha Valanzuolo, Rachele Russello, Anthony Russello, Nicholas Russello, Alexander Russello, as well as her great-grandchildren, Mia McMinn, Emily McMinn, and Joshua McMinn.

A dedicated worker, Rachele had a long career, including roles at Blue Cross, The Floyd Insurance Company, and the West Haven Board of Education. In her personal life, she was known for her love of reading, playing pinochle, and enjoying lively bingo games. Above all, Rachele cherished spending time with her family. She was the heart of many gatherings, always ready to host a party or share a laugh. Her love of travel took her to many destinations, with Italy holding a special place in her heart.

Her warmth, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 17th, from one to three o’clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, ten o’clock, in St. Agnes Church of Woodmont. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
