Ralph Anthony Conelli

Ralph Anthony Conelli, 74, of West Haven, died on March 11, 2023, surrounded by his family.  Born in New Haven on February 4, 1949, a son of the late Beatrice Amato.  Survived by his most beloved wife of 50 years, Patricia Ann (Gargiulo) Conelli; loving children Gina (Michael) Gerbase of West Haven, Christy (Edward) Wooldridge of Orange, and Joseph (Maria) Conelli of West Haven; adored grandchildren Michael, Nicholas, Ava, Logan, Carter, and Mason; brother Harold Amato; sister Cyndi Amato; numerous special nieces, nephews, in-laws; as well as many wonderful friends, of whom he considered family.  In addition to his mother, Ralph was preceded in death by his brother Frank Amato and sister Beatrice Amato.

After many years of applied talent, Ralph retired as a Carpenter and Millworker from West Haven Lumber Company and Kamco Supply of New England. Included within his favored pastimes were holiday traditions, Sunday dinners with family, fishing, vegetable gardening, OTB Greyhound racing, and rooting as an avid fan for the NY Giants and Yankees. Ralph will best be remembered as a kind and generous man, one of few words with a huge heart, and a most loyal friend. Always equipped with a practical joke and up for a good laugh, his wise guy personality and sense of humor will be missed by those he leaves behind. 

Calling hours will take place on Wednesday, March 15th, from 4 to 7 o’clock.  A funeral parlor service will be held on Thursday, March 16th, at 10 o’clock.  His formal procession will depart immediately following for interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
