It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond F. Quagliani, Jr. announces his passing on July 3, 2026. Born July 17, 1951, Ray was a son of the late Raymond F. and Rita Vece Quagliani, Sr., and a lifelong West Haven resident.
Employed at Jimmie’s of West Haven for over 26 years, Ray opened Savin Rock Ray’s, for a time in Norwalk. He worked at Hy’s Livery and went on to own and operate Quag’s Limo Service for over 20 years. At the time of his death, he worked for the Dept. of Public Works, City of West Haven.
Ray could make anyone laugh and was often the life of the party. He delighted in playing Santa Claus for over 45 years, visiting senior homes, friends and family, where the little ones waited eagerly for him. At the end, he played Santa for his own children and grandchildren.
Ray was the father of 6 children and 15 grandchildren, including son, Raymond F. (Vicki) Quagliani III, and children, Trevor, Mitchell, Gavin, Brody and Lilah; his late son, Justin, and his children, Nadia and Lucas; son, Christopher (Jen), and children, Luca and Tessa; daughter, Ericka, and her children, Angelina and Aria; son, Nicholas (Natalie) and children, Gianna and Gabriella; and son, Mario (Jo-Ann), and children, Ava and Nico. He also leaves his twin brother, Robert; brother, Ronald (Tracey); and sister, Christine; many nieces, nephews and literally hundreds of friends.
Ray loved life, but most of all, he loved his family and took care of them to the end. He will be sadly missed by all.
On Thursday, July 9, visitation will take place at the West Haven Funeral Home from 3 to 7 pm. On Friday morning, the procession for Ray will leave the funeral home at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John XXIII Parish, at St. John Vianney Church at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
