Richard J. Boucher, 72, of West Haven, died on June 23, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven on December 13, 1951, a son of the late Robert Sr. and Anne (Miller) Boucher. Survived by brothers William and Randall (Carla) Boucher of West Haven, Keith (Susan) Boucher of Hamden, Terryn (Julianne) Boucher of Middletown; as well as sisters Virginia Tierney of Leesburg, Florida, and Nancy (Glenn) Zemina of East Hampton, CT. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by brothers Timothy and Robert Boucher, Jr. of West Haven.
Rick retired from the United States Postal Service and was a longtime member of the American Postal Workers Union, remaining active within the organization for many decades. and worked as a mail clerk for the US Postal Service. Rick will be remembered as kind-hearted, friendly, and always wearing a smile. He enjoyed socializing with friends at the Oyster River Tavern in West Shore, listening to rock music, and watching older movies and classic TV shows, particularly Hawaii Five-0. He treasured time spent with family, especially attending the annual excursion held at the Holy Family Retreat House in West Hartford with his brother Bob.
Arrangements were entrusted to West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 5, from four to seven o’clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 6, at 10 o'clock, in St. Louis Church of St. John XXIII Parish in West Haven. Attendees are asked to meet directly at church. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
