Richard Paul Wasik, 88, of West Haven, died on November 14, 2024, at Connecticut Hospice of Branford. Richard was born in 1936 in Bridgeport, CT, the son of Adam Wasik and Mary Zalenska Wasik. He was the youngest of their eleven children. He spent his childhood in Bridgeport, CT, including many years as an alter server at Saint Michael the Archangel Church in Bridgeport.
After his marriage to Rita Ercolani, they made their home in West Haven, CT, where they lived for 58 years and raised their two daughters. Richard would become a car salesman, a job he loved. Over the years, he worked at Cooley Chevrolet in New Haven, Steven’s Ford in Milford, and then his dream job, Crest Lincoln of Woodbridge. Richard loved his family, but he also loved his cars, particularly his four Lincolns. He was happiest when he could take his cars to car shows or car cruises. He was a long-time member of the Classic Car Club and the Lincoln Owners Club.
Richard is survived by his wife Rita, his daughters Dorena Wasik of Wallingford and Diane Lane and her husband Tracy of North Carolina and his grandson Clayton Lane and his wife Lauren and granddaughter Juliana Lane, also of North Carolina. He is also survived by a sister, Felicia Votre of Orange, CT and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at ten o’clock, on Wednesday, November 20th, in St. John Vianney Church, followed by entombment in St. Lawrence Cemetery Garden Mausoleum.
