Robert Douglas Farquharson III passed away peacefully Saturday, June 15, 2024 surrounded by his loving family in West Haven. Born on May 22, 1962 the only son of Robert and Margaret Farquharson Jr., Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kirsten Dahlgard Farquharson, his two daughters, Kelsey (Brandon) Ruberti and McKenzie Farquharson, two grandchildren, Reid and Rowan Ruberti and his three sisters, Michelle (Alan) Beauchesne, Patrice (Mike Weber) Farquharson and Beth (Bob) Gaudreau.
Robert, or better known as “Bob,” “Robby,” or “Fargy” lived an extraordinary life. A graduate of UCONN School of Engineering, Bob excelled as a mechanical engineer for the majority of his adult life in several divisions of United Technologies, and most recently Lockheed Martin. Outside of work, Bob had a passion for music, hockey and living life to the fullest. His life truly began in October 1976 when he met the love of his life, Kirsten. The two had a bond that is best described as indescribable. As someone once said, “their marriage is simply amazing.” Together they created a beautiful family who spent their days laughing, loving and lounging at Lake Street Beach.
Bob’s charisma was contagious. His wit lit up a room and his strength was admirable. As the life of the party, Bob’s absence will not go unnoticed. He would encourage everyone to continue celebrating life and to not take it too seriously. Spend it with those you love and cherish every second.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 20 from 5-7 pm at West Haven Funeral Home. On Friday morning a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Vianney Church, St. John XXIII Parish at 11 o’clock. There is no burial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
