Robert H. Suchy

Robert H. Suchy, of West Haven passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 9, 2021. Born in Bridgeport, on October 28, 1945, he was the only child of the late Henry and Frances Kelkis Suchy. He was the husband of the late Linda A. Vitelli Suchy. Robert is survived by his son Jeffrey and his wife Kelly and his 4 grandchildren who he adored: Justen, Matthew, Gabriella and Nicholas. Robert also leaves behind his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Sal and Terry Vitelli. Robert was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Bridgeport and received a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University. An Army veteran, he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Robert worked for several area banks, retiring in 2010 from New Alliance Bank. Robert enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and taking an occasional trip to the casino.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 16, from 10AM – 12PM, at West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30PM, in St. Lawrence Church. Interment, with full military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org.
