Rosa M. Lopez

Rosa M. Lopez, age 86, of West Haven passed away on August 15, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital.  She was the loving wife of the late Pedro Lopez Nieves.  Rosa was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Julio Echevarria and Juana Nieves.  She is survived by her children Evelin (Steve Lockhart) Lopez-Lockhart of Wallingford and Nelida “Nellie” (Angel) Ramos of West Haven, her daughter-in-law Miriam Lopez of West Haven, her grandchildren Tiana Lee Ocasio of New Haven, Jessica (Frank) Bonilla of West Haven, Nastassja (Ashkan) Alipour of VA, Angel Ramos Jr. of West Haven and great grandchildren, Arianna (Josh Greer) Ocasio, Yasmin Nesmith, Caleb Bonilla, Felix Alipour and Daria Alipour.  Rosa is also survived by her sisters Inez Velazquez and Clara Echevarria both of New Haven, and Amalia Santiago of Florida.

Rosa was predeceased by her son Edwin Lopez and her brother Fransisco Echevarria and Juan Echevarria.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-6 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Monday morning at 9:00 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Louis Church, St. John XXIII Parish at 9:30 am.  Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
