Roy Paul Stober, age 74, of West Haven passed away on February 16, 2021. For 55 years, he was the loving husband of Joanne Arminio Stober. Roy was born in New Haven, son of the late Charles and Irene LaFontaine Stober. He is also survived by his sons, Michael (Marcy) Stober of Old Saybrook, Roy (Dena) Stober Jr. of West Haven and Richard Stober of TX, his grandchildren, Tyler (Christopher Cipriano), Cameron, Kyle, Nicholas, Ricky and Colby Stober, his great-granddaughters Ellie and Zoey and many nieces and nephews. Roy was predeceased by his siblings, Charles Stober, Alice “Sis” Vaspasiano and Irene LaRocque. Roy was a proud US Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam as a Combat Engineer with the 643rd Engineering Co. 2nd Battalion. He was a member of the Combat Veterans MC Association. Roy was active for many years in coaching baseball and hockey in West Haven. He was quite the guitar player in his youth, playing for a few bands. Prior to retirement, Roy was a supervisor for Rockbestos Suprenant INC. Roy's family would like to thank the Curtis Home and hospice for the care he received there.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-6pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. His funeral procession will leave the on Monday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Lawrence Church at 10am. Interment, with military honors, will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
