Sheila J. Cefaratti

Sheila Joan (Zacarelli) Cefaratti age 81, of West Haven, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on July 31,2025 surrounded by loved ones.

Sheila was born on August 12,1943, in New Haven to her late parents Peter and Helen (Ahern) Zacarelli. She worked at Soundview Nursing Home in West Haven for over 18 years, adored by so many of her residents, coworkers, and peers.

She was known for her spunky persona, witty comebacks, and ability to entertain her kids and grandkids anytime and anywhere. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her, usually leaving them in laughter. Whether it was over a highly competitive game of Rummy 500, a family vacation to Lake George, walks on West Haven beach, or marathons of Investigative ID TV, she brought laughter, entertainment, and joy to those around her.

Sheila is survived by her daughter; Barbara Simos (Peter), son; Christopher Wrzosek (Clorinda), daughter; Nicole Cefaratti Corso (Paul Marak), grandchildren; Nicholas Simos (Shannon), Marissa Simos(Lee Tavella), Chris Wrzosek, Andrew Wrzosek, Larry Nicolelli, Caitlin Maggio (Joe), Matthew Lucibello, Gianna Corso, sister; Patricia Zacarelli, brother; Peter Zacarelli (Charles Tautvid) and preceded in death by her son; Lawrence Wrzosek and sisters; Barbara Grimes, Carol Landino. Her legacy lives on through her family, who will cherish her memory forever.

She will be deeply missed by all.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday August 8, 2025 at 10am at St. John Vianney Church of St. John XXII Parish, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd., West Haven, CT. Interment will be immediately following at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven in the family plot.
