Teresa DePalma, age 87, of West Haven passed away on April 24, 2022. For 59 years, she was the loving wife of the late Giuseppe “Pepe” DePalma. Teresa was born in Piedimonte, Alife, Italy, daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Grillo DeSisto. She is survived by her loving children, Phillip (Betsy) DePalma of Milford, Carmelina (Ben) Ferrie of Woodbridge, Joseph (Raquel) DePalma and Anthony DePalma all of West Haven, her adoring grandchildren, Joseph (Melissa) DePalma, Anna (Nick Maillet) Ferrie, Benjamin Ferrie Jr. and Ashly DePalma, her cherished great granddaughter Lilliana, and her siblings, Maria Iasalvatore, Pasquale (Joanne) DeSisto, Arthur DeSisto and Silvio (Andrea) DeSisto. Teresa was predeceased by her brothers, Luigi, Fernando and Albert DeSisto.
After World War II, Teresa and Pepe immigrated to England and then came to the United States to fulfil their “American Dream”. They both established and managed many stores during their working careers, Teresa’s Candy Kitchen, Pepe’s Corner Store and West Haven Italian Imports, just to name a few.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9-10:30am at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Victory Church at 11am. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
