After a courageous battle, Timothy Keeler passed away on August 12, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Tim was the adoring husband of Jill (Mari) Keeler for 51 years. He was the beloved father of 2 daughters, Tara Burtis and Melissa (Scott) Jungeblut and a son, Kevin (Elizabeth) Keeler; and grandfather to his dearly treasured David, Ryan, Isabella and Sofia. He loved to watch them play baseball and hockey and to dance, and he devoted much of his retirement to caring for each grandchild. Tim was also blessed with 2 step grandchildren, Vicky and Jesse.
Brother of Franklin (Julia) Keeler, brother-in-law of Eleanor Keeler, Lee (Nancy) Mari, and Scott (Nerisa) Mari and uncle and cousin to many. Incredibly close to his heart was his cousin, Brian (Cathy) Mari who was like a brother to him. He was a son of the late Franklyn and Doris Kerr Keeler; and brother Robert Keeler predeceases him.
Born in Bridgeport, Tim moved to Milford, attended Kay Avenue School, graduated from Jonathan Law High School in 1967 and continued his education at the University of New Haven. He spent most of his career working for Dome Lab/Miles Lab/Bayer Pharmaceuticals in West Haven and retired after 36 years as a Senior Distribution Warehouse Supervisor. A volunteer in the Milford Fire Department, Tim was a founding member of Engine 260, Milford.
As an avid sports fan - cheering on the NY Jets, Boston Red Sox, NY Islanders and UConn - Tim was an enthusiastic bowler and softball player. Through the years, he coached Shore Haven Baseball and West Haven Pop Warner Football. His absolute favorite sport was golf, and he looked forward to his yearly golf trip to Myrtle Beach.
Although family time was paramount in his life, Tim did squeeze in vacations to Las Vegas, the CT casinos, and on many cruises.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16th from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A prayer service will commence in the funeral parlor at 6:30 PM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Milford Adaptive Program (MAPs) for their annual drama show in which “D” loved watching his granddaughter Izzie perform.
