Norton Thomas Williams, Jr, 91, of Milford, entered into rest on January 25, 2026 with his family by his side. The only child of Dr. Norton Thomas Williams, Sr. and Louise Beehler Williams, Tom graduated from West Haven High School and received a BS degree in chemistry from the University of Connecticut in 1956. In 1958 he accepted a position with Armstrong Rubber Co. as a Chemist, where he remained for his entire career.
In 1964, Tom married his beloved wife, Ann Mahoney Williams. Together they raised three children Brian Williams of Milford, Norton Thomas (Barbara) Williams of Marion, MA. and Eileen (Norman) Birk of Summerland Key, FL. A proud grandfather of six, Tom’s grandchildren are Benjamin (Sabrina) Williams, Colin Williams, Christopher Williams, Caroline Williams, Mark Kraeger and Jack Kraeger. He also leaves behind his favorite cousin, Eve Williams Phillips.
A devoted community volunteer, Tom served on several committees including the City of Milford Planning & Zoning and Inland Wetlands Commissions and as a volunteer firefighter for Engine Co. 6. Tom enjoyed many hobbies including boating, fishing, tennis, and was an active member of City Point Yacht Club. He enjoyed watching UConn basketball and held season tickets.
Always ready for an adventure, he and Ann travelled extensively with their friends and family. A regular visitor to Block Island, he enjoyed attending the season opening and closing of the Oar Restaurant and could often be found enjoying the sunset with a mudslide in hand. He will be remembered for his kindness, zest for life and willingness to always lend a hand to neighbors and friends.
Friends may call at the West Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, January 29 from 4 to 7 pm. On Friday morning a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Agnes Church in Milford at 10 o’clock. Interment will be private in Groton, MA. Donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405, www.hospice.com.
