Tony DeFrancesco, 83, formerly of West Haven entered into rest on November 30, 2022. Big Tony, as he was affectionately known, retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 50 years of service. He was a letter carrier and supervisor, first at the Brewery Street station and later in the West Haven office. He was a proud US Army Veteran. New York teams, Yankees and Giants, provided hours of entertainment for Tony, by attending games and in later years watching them on TV. Somehow though, his favorite hockey team was the Boston Bruins!
Tony was the proud father of Peter DeFrancesco, Suzy DeFrancesco and the late Paul (Jeanie) DeFrancesco. He also leaves his granddaughter Rylee and brother Ernest (Nancy) DeFrancesco.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday December 7, 2022 from 9 to 10:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. A brief prayer service will begin at 10:30. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
