Vera Matthews Marshall, 7/10/37 – 8/2/22

Vera Matthews Marshall, 85 of West Haven beloved wife of the late Edward F. Marshall, went home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2022.  Loving mother of Virginia and David Zotti, Laura Marshall, and Mary Marshall.  Grandmother to Michael (Kelly) Zotti, David (Ashley) Zotti and Edward Sperry, Cherished Great-Mimi to Jackson, Ryan, and Madelyn Zotti. Survived by brother James Matthews, nephew Michael (Kelly) Matthews and sisters-in-law Lucy Marshall and Kathi Dest.  Nieces and nephews, Les (Irene) Bankewicz, Lynn Lester and Brian and Jeffrey Brainard.  

Predeceased by parents James and Ida Matthews and sister Jean (Curtis) Brainard. 

Vera was born in Long Island, New York before moving to West Haven, as a child, were she lived the remainder of her life. 

Vera was loving and caring all her life.  She enjoyed spending time with her family especially holidays and backyard cookouts.  She volunteered at local nursing homes for over 15 years. She was a long-time member of First & Wesley Methodist Church.

Donations may be made in Vera’s name to the American Lung Association or an animal charity of your choice.

Family and friends may call at West Haven Funeral Home, 662 Savin Ave., West Haven on Tuesday August 9, 2022, 9:00-10:30 AM with a service at 10:30.  Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery to follow.
