Vermet Mickle was born on April 28, 1920 to the late Mary Hopkin and George Feaster. Vermet grew up to become a beautiful young adult and met her husband Karey Mickle, in which they were happily married for 45 years. In this marriage they were blessed to have six healthy children: Marshall, James, Karey, Mary Ruby and Betty. Vermet was a loving wife, mother and worked hard to provide for her family.
Vermet worked over 30 years as a housekeeper at St. Luke’s Hospital until her retirement. Upon retirement, Vermet Volunteered to care for newborns that where born with heroin addiction.
Vermet was the matriarch of the family in which she provided love, wisdom, kindness and was such full of life. Such a positive energy! Vermet’s staple was always preparing homemade biscuits for her family member, when they visited her. She left them in her famous green crockpot.
Profoundly, with a sad heart Vermet leaves behind her grandchildren: Vermet, Jody, Jerome, Alexander, Celestine, Anthony, Burt, Dennis, Kai, Kari, Daryl, Karen, Leon, Kevin, David, Andrea and Terrance. Along with great grands and great-great grands and many friends.
Rest in Peace grandma. You will forever be in our hearts.
Love you family
