He is predeceased by his wife Shirley (Weissbrod) Anquillare.
Vin grew up in West Haven in a loving and active family with his brother, John. His first competitive sport was that of football, playing for both West Haven High School and the University of Bridgeport. While Vin loved all sports, he became a true hockey fan when his son played for West Haven High School, as well as the University of Notre Dame.
Professionally, Vin began his career a sales manager for Mantilia Motors of West Haven, dedicating 25 years of service. After the death of his wife in 1979, he and his brother established Anquillare’s D&N Sporting Goods, located in downtown West Haven. This endeavor became a great success, supporting many local sports teams for over 25 years, while also offering him the flexibility of more time with his loving son, family, and devoted partner, Sue. Vin loved being a part of the sports community in West Haven, whereby he had the good fortune to form many lifelong friendships. Vin was a wonderful father, grandfather, and overall family man. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 4th, at 11 o’clock, in Our Lady of Victory Church, West Haven. Friends are asked to meet DIRECTLY at church.
