Virginia "Ginny" Nelson

Virginia Carmel Nelson, age 90, a longtime resident of West Haven passed away, surrounded by her family, on August 12, 2023.  She was born in New Haven, the daughter of the late Agnelina Bonaldo and Gino Montini.  Viriginia is survived by her sons, David (Jacqui) Nelson of Beacon Falls and Richard (Denise) Nelson of CA, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Larry Casardi, Mary Ruggiero and Lola Tomassi.

Virginia was a high school graduate of Hillhouse High School, New Haven, where she was a member of Omega Delta Phi.  She started her adult career at Pratt and Whitney and moved on to a dedicated sojourn with Miles/Bayer Corporation for 31 ½ years, where she also served on the Bayer Junior Board.
 

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10am - 12noon at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green.  A Funeral Service will then commence at the funeral home at 12noon.  Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to Community Benchmark at Hamden One Company Fund 35 Hamden Hills Dr, Hamden, CT 06518.
