Volodimir “Walter” Litvyn, 93, of Guilford, CT passed away on April 25, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his family. For 65 years, he was the loving husband of Lidia Warycz Litvyn. Volodimir was born in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, son of the late Gregery and Maria Stebluik Litvyn. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lucia Litvyn and Gregery Litvyn and his wife Lynne all of Guilford, his grandsons, Randall Bova Jr., Robert Bova, Gregory Litvyn and Gavyn Litvyn. He was predeceased by his sisters Natalia Petrianyk and Nadia Schurawel and his brother Mykola “Mike” Litvyn.
Walter came to the United States in 1959 to pursue his American Dream. For many years He worked on various aspects of the business world, from gas station owner, mechanic, offshore power boat racer, and even construction. Known as “The Doc,” Walter was a skilled mechanic, who worked on race cars from the old Savin Rock Speedway, Riverside Park, and Thompson Speedway. Anything with horsepower “The Doc” would get it back on track and running fast….
On Saturday morning at 11am Funeral Services will be held at the St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA on the territory of the Metropolia Center in South Bound Brook, New Jersey. Interment will follow in the St. Andrews Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery.
