Wilbur Troy Obituary

Wilbur C. Troy, age 90, of West Haven died on February 18, 2021 at Connecticut Hospice. Wilbur was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to the late George and Violet Troy. He is survived by daughter Marguerite (Harry Jr.) Timko of Cheshire; grandchildren Jonathan (Sarah) Timko of Maryland, Harry (Laurie) Timko III of North Carolina, Gregory (Ashley) Timko of Maryland, Laura and Michael Timko, both of CT; great-grandchildren Conner and Preston. Wilbur was predeceased by Marguerite Sep Troy, his loving wife of 57 years; son Wilbur G. Troy; as well as brothers George F., Leroy, Lewis and Linus, all of Pennsylvania.

A resident of West Haven for over 50 years, Wilbur retired as a mail carrier from the United States Postal Service and enjoyed his years of retirement enjoying the outdoors. Wilbur was a family man and always one who liked to “tinker” around- whether with his tools, his passion of working on cars or his avid gardening interests. He and his beloved wife found much excitement and enjoyment from their innumerous trips to Foxwoods Casino for Bingo. Wilbur very much valued his independence, proud to have lived in his longtime home until the age of 90. He will be missed by all who knew him. All services will be private at this time.
