William J. Clark, age 85, of West Haven passed away suddenly in Florida on November 19, 2021. He was born in Hemphill, West Virginia, son of the late William and Annie Hearl Clark. Bill is survived by his children, Carolyn A. (Rich) Minnix, William F. (Marla) Clark, David M. Clark, Andrew T. (Gina) Clark, Stephen P. (Kim) Clark, Kevin J. (Kim) Clark and James D. (Allison) Canning, his grandchildren, Samantha Glover, Sabrina Gallo, Danielle Criscuolo, Andrew Clark Jr., Stephen Clark Jr., Jessica Elliott, Samantha Albert, Richie Minnix Jr., William R. Clark , Autumn DaSilva, Jesse Clark, Annie Bedwell, Taylor Canning, Dakota Canning, David Clark, Kevin Clark II, Jacob Clark, Michael Clark and Emma Clark, his 27 great grandchildren, his siblings Fred (Judy) Clark and Anthony (Mary Jane) Clark. He is also survived by his former wife of 30 years, Patricia Clark. He was predeceased by his brother Vernon Clark.
In 1952, Bill started his own home improvement company, Clark Builders. His son, Kevin, took over operations in 1986, but Bill continued to work alongside him until his retirement three years ago. After retiring, Bill spent his time in Florida and was cared for by his son David. Bill was also one of the seven founding members of the Promise Land Church of God, formally known as West Haven Church of God, in 1960.
The hours for visitation will be held on SUNDAY Nov. 28th from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Promise Land Church of God, 240 Burwell Rd., West Haven, CT. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at Promise Land Church of God on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate Bill’s life. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. West Haven Funeral Home at the Green is entrusted with arrangements.
