William G. Kapinos, “Bill” to all who knew him, entered into rest on January 26, 2025. He was the husband of the late Rita Allison Kapinos and the beloved father of William M. (Christa) Kapinos, Christopher (Dawn) Kapinos and Diane P. Kapinos (Francis) Casner and proud grandfather of Stephen Kapinos, Victoria Kapinos and Quen Cronin. He was predeceased by his brother Walter Kapinos.
Bill served in the US Army for two years, after enlistment. For many years he worked as a printer for the New Haven Register, followed by several retail jobs. He retired from the Bilco Company. As a Eucharistic minister at St. John Vianney and the former Our Lady of Victory Church, Bill ministered to so many individuals and families within these parishes. This vocation also saw him visiting the local nursing homes and homebound for prayers and communion.
The hours for visitation will take place on Thursday January 30, 2025 from 5 to 8 pm at the West Haven Funeral Home. On Friday morning the procession will leave the funeral home at 9 o’clock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Vianney Church, St. John XXIII parish at 9:30. Interment, with military honors, will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
